Signed Roslyn Hoffman vintage costume jewelry (1954-1980)
The American jewelry designer Roslyn C. Hoffman (1914 – 1993) and her husband Robert Hoffman began their family business in 1954 in Santa -Monica, California. Their corporation Hoffman Jewelry produced and sold jewelry for more than two decades. The company closed its doors in 1981.
Inspired by the Art Deco style and handcrafted from copper, Roslyn jewelry designs are easily recognizable. A characteristic feature of the design is multi -layer and the use of art glass that imitates natural stones – opal, turquoise, lapis lazuli. The manufacturer’s mark on the back of the products includes the name of the artist – Roslyn Hoffman with stylized font.
Collectors of vintage jewelry and lovers of wearable art highly appreciate Hoffman decorations, which are rare today.
According to sources, Roslyn Hoffman spent the last years of her life in Florida, where, together with her son Robert Hoffman Jr., founded stock corporation RJ & R Hoffman, Inc. (1972-1990).
