Signed Sardi Vintage Costume Jewelry (1974-1998)
The history of the British costume jewellery brand Sardi began in 1974 and lasted just over two decades.
The founders of the brand were Polish immigrants living in London, jewellery designer Stefan Franciszek Skrabski (b. 1934) and his wife Theresa Skrabski. Their company Sardi Fashion Jewellery Limited stopped manufacturing jewellery in 1996 and ceased to exist in 1998.
It is noteworthy that for several years Sardi collaborated with the trading company Minika UK LIMITED Limited (1988-2000). In this case, the jewellery was sold in Minika branded boxes with a corresponding inscription on the satin lining inside the box.
Sardi jewellery – voluminous brooches with floral or animalistic designs, as well as classic sets of choker necklaces and clips with geometric design. The jewelers used high quality materials, including gold plating, enamel and rhinestones. The marking on the back includes the word Sardi, or Sardi England.
